Assessing readiness to manage medical emergencies among dental students at four dental schools

Background and Purpose Dentists treat a wide range of patients, including patients with compromised health conditions. While rendering treatment, various medical emergencies can do occur. To help increase the knowledge required to manage such emergencies, dental students must be trained while in school. This study aims assess level emergency preparedness among at four schools. Material Methods The participating schools were IUSD, Case Western Reserve University School Dentistry, Marquette Alabama Dentistry. Groups designed include 20 from Years 1 4. Students asked fill out survey then tested on 10 clinical scenarios. Results A total 331 participated study. scores based case scenarios presented 4.35–8.02. There was no statistically significant difference when compared. However, Year 2 had significantly lower than those 3 demonstrated less confidence their current emergencies. Satisfaction training received ranged 38% 84%. Conclusion results this indicate that students’ these is similar. Additional yearly could enhance management setting.
